Well, the title doesn't sound interesting but sounds impractical. Someone would be feeling like 'kya fek raha he'. But this post is not for their feelings. Huh...Enough of this (To myself).
While going through some article (technical), I came to know that the computer system can be locked and unlocked using RFID card. RFID card is defined as the ATLEAST thing an employee will always have. Let's get into some pre-primary school calculations :
An average employee will at least lock and unlock his/her system 10 times a day. To lock a system user needs to press 'Windows key + L' and to unlock user needs to :
1. Press 'Ctrl + Alt + Del' (Easier than learning piano)
2. Then need to enter the username (optional somewhere, somewhere sounds like somewhere on earth)
3. Then comes the most secure thing on earth - password. (There are many password policies defined differently like : Min max size of password, what should be included and what not, some special instructions and .....)
Also user needs to change password after some defined period and it should not be same as previous infinite password and much more.
During this manual locking and unlocking process user spends around 7 secs, while locking and unlocking using RFID card it will save around 5 sec for each instance.
1 user : 1 day : 5 sec * 10 instances = 50 sec.
1 lac user : 1 day : 50,00,000 sec : 83,333.3333 min : 1,388.88889 hr : 57.8703704 days (looks like it goes on and on and it goes on and on , guess the song: It's dynamite from Tiao Cruz). Thats the end of calculation.
Password policy : Always keep your RFID card close to your heart or at least with you, never ever give it to other.
Advantages : Manally locking and unlocking system 10 times a day, every day sounds very boring. No stress to mind remembering those passwords.
Conclusion : There are many automation happening trying to eliminate boring and repetitive tasks, And this is the most boring and most repetitive task every done.
