#Observations #ChallengeToFindExpiry #EasyView : Provide some interesting puzzle to know expiry date of product -(Sarcasm subjective)

I purchased a biscuit packet without seeing its expiry date from bus station. After eating some of it, I was going through the details mentioned on its box (may be only best way left for time pass) and found that those biscuits were expired.

This was the turning point (obviously not of life) from where I started seeing the expiry date before making purchase of any products.

Some of my observations (Not of any scientific experiments) :

Process of expiry date calculation goes like :
          1. Searching manufactured date (not easy as google search)
          2. Searching line where its validity period is mentioned (written in different units like days or months or hardly years)
          3. Calculation starts from here : Match the units of validity and manufactured date, add validity to manufactured date and see if the result is ahead of your present (I mean date)

Some of my photography and edits -

1. Amul Kool : Sometime I feels like these guys are taking math test (Not really, some of lines are intentionally written to make this post interesting, example : Really I don't know there intention of writing Kool instead of Cool)

2. Britannia nutri choice ragi cookies :

Suggestion : Why are the Companies not directly writing expiry date directly like as found in medicine or tablets cover or some products : Expiry Date : 08/07/18

Some serious brainstorming : One of my friend told that the box are printed and stocked and when they are packed the print the packed date on it. I told why these companies cannot directly print or mark expiry date when they are packing. (Not mentioning further discussion as there was not any)

Advantages :
1. Saving time of consumers for expiry date calculation (There are lot of other things going on)
2. Saving you ink or at least space on cover to write something interesting
And finally why can't you or what on earth is stopping you.

  1. As per FSSAI rules, manufacturing date has to be written. FSSAI doesn't have competency to study implication of thier rules before implementing. They don't even take feedbacks after implementation of a rule. In developed countries, food packs come with expiry date.

However, as per FSSAI, in short shelf life products like bread or sachet milk, use by date has to written instead of manufacturing date. Thus, like I said, they don't plan comprenesively before making rules.
